My Experience with Colored Contact Lenses
My dad convinced me that I was old enough to wear colored contact lenses when I was in high school. He took me to the city branch of the ophthalmologist (eye doctor) where he helped me try on several contact lenses in different colors, seeing no harm in a 15-year-old wearing colored contacts. I revisited the colored contacts thing when I entered college, especially after dying my hair blonde.
My Color Choice
FreshLook colored contacts in green were my choice. The overall effect was natural with blonde hair and a darker foundation. It became my signature look for years to come, pastel lilac eyeshadow, eyes lined with a darker prune purple eyeshadow, iridescent violet with a blue flash chubby stick as an inner corner highlight. Beautifully complementing the green lenses were the lilacs and purples.

My Experience with Online Shopping
Because I'm very interested in Japanese and Korean culture, I decided to order colored lenses online because they looked gorgeous on all the Asian models. As a teenager, I used to try them on in the store (can you imagine how many people tried them on before me?)
Nowadays, I enjoy the whole process of online shopping since it allows for trial and error. Last time I was shopping at Queen's eyes (which I believe was 3 weeks ago) I picked up 3 more contacts from the brand Desio. Reviews and pics to come!
Your Health Matters
To conclude, I think colored contact lenses, just like makeup, are a fun way to play around and experiment with your look. Just remember that, like with all things, they can easily become tacky if you go overboard. Most importantly, check out whether colored contact lenses work for you before you actually buy one!
